Wrote, planned, and edited lessons teaching 21st Century Literacy skills for middle school language arts program. Wrote and edited profiles on experts who exemplified these skills.

Online Literature Lessons, McDougal Littell
Wrote and edited lessons for a Florida district’s Learning Village management portal. Lessons included teacher scripts that retaught literary and reading skills to accompany selections from the McDougal Littell 2009 literature series.

Literature in Context, McDougal Littell
Prototyped, researched, and wrote an interactive presentation tool to accompany the American and British literature anthologies. The DVD-ROM features an image gallery, teacher notes, and a customizable presentation that introduces students to each literary movement by bringing the culture and history of the period to life. Students can use the tool to explore the events and ideas that influenced writers and the influences on society.

American, British, and World Literature Teacher and Student Anthologies, Glencoe
Researched and wrote unit introductions, giving students a historical and cultural background for literary movements. Wrote and researched author biographies and background notes on the historical and cultural events that influenced each writer. Wrote student lessons with accompanying teacher notes and answers.

Reading Street, Scott Foresman
Researched and wrote reading passages, students writing models, and vocabulary passages for the 2008 Grade 6 Reading Street student edition. Wrote new skill instructional material and comprehension and vocabulary questions. Adapted existing material to fit new program goals of helping teachers motivate students and engage them in literature.

Fine Art Writing Prompts, McDougal Littell
Wrote narrative, descriptive, persuasive, opinion, and expository writing prompts to accompany fine art images. The prompts encouraged students to write about the image or something related to the image.

Speaking and Listening Ancillary, McDougal Littell  
Wrote teacher scripts and models to teach the basics of giving oral presentations and to teach each type of speaking and listening skill. Scripts included student prompts, questions, checklists, and rubrics.

Wrote teacher scripts and models to teach the basics of writing essays, short stories, oral responses, subject analysis, technical writing, and workplace writing. Scripts included student prompts, questions, checklists, and rubrics.

Read 180, Scholastic
Wrote assessments for children's books, nonfiction books, and teen novels to test students' comprehension of each book they completed. The Read 180 Program is designed to combat illiteracy by encouraging students to read by meeting different needs and interests.

Edited and adapted scholarly articles on the need for academic vocabulary study and the instructional strategies designed to meet the needs of advanced, on-level, and below-level readers.

Fact-checked biographies on historical, literary, and performing arts individuals written for the second-grade level.
